Toy Rubber Balloons

We have all experienced interacting with toy balloons as children and adults. This survay is to quantify the nature of these experiences in the general population. Please feel free to add your comments and observations in the readers response area by clicking on the talk about it. For statistical purposes please indicate your gender and age range.
Male teen:- 13 to 19 years old.
Male young adult:- 20 to 30 years old.
Male adult:- 31 to 50 years old.
Male mature adult:- 51 years and over.
Female teen:- 13 to 19 years old.
Female young adult:- 20 to 30 years old.
Female adult:- 31 to 50 years old.

As a pre-teen how often did you experience contact with toy balloons?
None:- Please skip the next several pre-teen balloon related questions.
Occasionally on my birthday or at a party during this period.
Up to once or twice a year- parties, celebrations etc.
Several times a year and would be in contact with balloons other than related to parties.
In addition to parties I would be given or allowed to buy balloons for my own enjoyment.
I really enjoyed playing with or breaking balloons and I never could get enough of them.
As a pre-teen what was your fear level to the presence of toy balloons?
Did not like being around inflated balloons at all.
Did not mind being around inflated balloons but disliked having them popped when present.
Did not mind being around balloons or if they were popped by others.
Did not mind engaging in non-balloon breaking games / play with others.
Did not mind engaging in balloon breaking games / play with others.
Enjoyed breaking balloons whenever I could including inflating them until they would burst.
As a pre-teen if you were not afraid of balloons what was your view / reaction to contact with them?
Just viewed them as pretty decorations or party favors to take home.
Viewed them as toys to be played with but not specifically broken.
Viewed them as toys to be played with roughly with the intent to eventually have them break.
Viewed them as an object that was simply intended to be broken.
If as a young child you had reservations when around balloons, as you reached your teen years did your fear level decrease?
I became more afraid of balloons then when I was younger.
I still had a strong fear when around inflated balloons.
I was able to tolerate being around balloons but didn't go out of my way to get involved with them.
I enjoyed balloon games / play with others as situations arose.
Would actually ask for or buy balloons to play with.
I specifically enjoyed breaking balloons and would go out of my way to get my hands on balloons.
As a pre-teen, if you were not fearful of balloons, what characteristics of rubber balloons did you enjoy most about them. Check all that apply.
They were pretty to look at.
I liked the lightness and buoyancy of balloons.
I liked the skin like feel of balloons.
I liked the smell of inflated balloons.
I liked how easily they could be broken.
I liked the sound of a balloon being rubbed between my hands or on my body.
I liked to play with them, batting them around to see how far they would fly, etc.
I enjoyed rough housing with them knowing that eventually they would suddenly break.
I really liked to break balloons and would do so as soon as I got my hands on them.

As you got into your teen years what was your attitude regarding balloons?
Playing with them other kids would think I was a sissy
Having them around parents / other adults would think I was a big baby.

Enjoyed balloons as I got older and wasn't concerned if they were appropriate for my age.

They didn't care one way or the other.
They felt you were getting too old to be playing with balloons but did not interfere.
