Mister Poll: Initiation at High Schools and Colleges

Many of the High schools in my region have an initiation process for the grade 8's. The grade 8's are made to do stupid things... I want to know if you think it is discriminating, stupid or a good idea.

Ok, when I was in Grade 8, we had to come back after school for an hour so we could learn our new school's anthem/song and learn the school rules for a certain number of days. Is this:

Fair for new students (all grade 8's are new students)

We had to make a doll out of a balloon too and get 15 Prefects to sign the doll by the end of the two weeks. Do you think this is:

A good way for the Grade 8's to get to know the prefects by name and get in touch with their creativ

The last thing we had to do was wear a cardboard sign around our necks for two weeks with our name, balloon baby's name and toothpaste brand on it. Do you think this is:

Now I have heard of things that happened for initiation in other schools tell me what you think of these things... A guy had to measure a girls leg with a matchstick and when he got to high she had to slap him. Do you think this is:

A good way to show girls that they don't have to give in to people who give them nonsense

A good way to show guys where they stand with the girls

boys from the guys school had to find a partner and hold their hand from class to class (remember this is a guys only school)

It is wrong - it is encouraging the guys to be gay

Humiliating - it is putting them in there place.

This year the Grade 8's have to wear paper pigs ears on their heads and paper pigs snouts over their noses. Is this:
