How much does America know about politics in general?

Income taxes, theocracy and war...

...the usual far-right claptrap; their minds are so stunted and atrophied, these shibboleths are all that remain.

Predictable and pathetic.

I suspect that your objections to this poll concern the references to the questions regarding the Mayflower Compact, the impact of reduced tax rates, and the constitutional basis for the fictional"separation of Church and State".Be specific. What are the inaccuracies in this polls obvious correct answers?Do you have a substantive argument?I rather expect that this objection is just your predictable Pavlovic reaction against God,common-sense and basic decency. Please disabuse me of this notion. The floor is yours,me bonnie lassie!

From the Author

Simply writen with factual type questions. You either know the answer, don't know the answer and aren't afraid to say so (it's ok, some of these are tough) or you guess. Besides what's the case in your state or congressional district, you know or you don't pay attention. The 'trivia' type questions are what I would consider at the Jeopardy or Who wants to be a Millionaire level.

Pssst.....you could go back and redo this one with another browser window opened to a search engine and get all the answers.

Now if you really want to express an opinion and not deal with these pesky factual questions, try my totally opinionated and nearly non-factual poll, Do you trust politicians

Then there's my first one that has it's good and bad points. A bunch of political stuff What do you expect? I'm new at this.

Once there are 50 respondants here, I'll write a long comment with all the correct answers.

I thought it was just preposterous to ask about Thanksgiving Day - as if that made someone “knowledgeable”. However, after seeing your defensive answer - your agenda was revealed. I notice you bring up tax cuts but not run away spending! I could have guessed that! I won’t bother to take up for the Lord our God; he can more then take care of himself.

I'm not sure just what is defensive in my answer. I wrote about the three most uniquely "American" holidays, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, and Veteren's day. I don't expect people to know all the details about them, or the story of the Star Spangled Banner. Hopefully people will open a search engine and look for themselves, or watch the History Channel where I personally learned many of these details. My "agenda" with this poll is education, and American History.

As far as my background, I have been a teacher, and have written historical based curriculum and test questions. It's not important to me (here in this particular poll) what someone's opinion is, but when I am challenged, I respond in a factual, calm and reserved manner.

Hopefully I have fully explained myself well enough. If anyone has further questions, or can think of another type of poll I can write (including collaborating with me), feel free to respond to this.
