Conversion to Atheism from other religions

Apparently putting "atheist" in the title means all the atheists will click on it. Look at this "Do You Believe in God?" poll for a more representative sample.

Note: I am an atheist (although I call myself a nontheist because I think it's a little more accurate.)

I consider myself an an agnostic jew who tend to live life on the assumtion that there is no god (a mouthful when people ask my religion; I usually say Atheist-Agnostic-Jew). I can never really remember a time when I truly belived in an almighty power (although I do remember when I was little, I was mad that I never saw God when I was flying in an airplane, but for all I was concerned back then, God was just a big guy that sits in the sky and doesn't do much). People can believe what they want, as long as they keep it out of my government (I've put that on a lot of posts ltely!!!)
