I trust them 90%. The reason it's not 100% is because they are human and humans are born to er.

I agree with Moonlight Rose. While the vast majority are really good people, there is reasonable justification to view them with a healthy dose of scepticism.

The Rodney King Beating, Craig Peyer's murder of Karen Knott, BTK [though not an actual officer, he is a person in uniform and the uniform sometimes goes to the head of the person wearing it], the recent beating of the 64 yr old retired school teacher in new Orleans... these are a small example, but an important one nonetheless.

For instance, as a passenger in a car pulled over at 2:30 in the morning for speeding, the person driving is found to be drunk, and the officer then trieds to arrest you for drunk in public. You tell him you're sober and to give you a test. He refuses and tries to arrest you anyways. Is this officer someone you can trust? He obviously doesn't care that you're sober, and he intends to take you to jail, sober. You are expected not to argue, not to resist, sober or not, and if you do they can be excessive in their force to arrest you, whether they are justified or not, and claim you were being beligerent, combative, defensive, and uncooperative, and the courts will ALWAYS give the officer the benefit of the doubt. You, though innocent until proven guilty, don't get that treatment. Instead, you get the guilty until proven innocent side of it.

It is true. Police are people.

Do you trust the police.

I hate police. We have to have them. Most of the police suffer from some sort of mental dysfunction because they have to enforce racist laws which can not be enforced. Take drug laws. Dealers do not have problems with the customers. Give the dealers the money and they are happy. Junkies don't have any problem with getting the dope. The only way that the controlled dangerous substances law is if the police use entrapment. What the hxxx is a controlled dangerous substance anyway? If it is controlled there is no danger. I was sitting on Lemoine in Fort Lee, New Jersey drinking coffee at one in the morning and had some bipolar pig do two searches of my car to no avail Half of the force was there and I could tell by the expression on the face of one the police that this was not the first time. The one in charge was walking funny so I could tell he was hyperexcited. Is drinking coffee a crime? Well in Georgia kissing a girl could be a felony? I have had to go to court on really stupid charges many times. I had a load of points on my driving record and now have had a perfectly clear record for the last fifteen years just by not having my taxi lettered. I once crossed the Upper Penn in Michigan and saw only one cop car. The other drivers were all extremely courteous and safe drivers. Read the real story of the movie, "Bridge on the River Kwai". The guards were very nasty because they had to force the prisoners to do what could not be done.
