Is it Important? Overpopulation
Anyone who thinks overpopulation is a problem for this world has apparently never flown in an airplane! There are vast majorities of unpopulated space available for people to live if they would just move out of the cities. And don't tell me that the land is uninhabitable - if we have spacestations in SPACE, then surely we can live in the more harsh climites on our own planet!
Where would we then grow food?
What are the economics involved with supporting large populations in deserts?
The fact, it is a major problem. To feed the population we have now, we pollute our crops with so many chemicals in order to grow more than the land would natural allow. The chemical run off into our water and poison not only us, but countless other species. Our expanion has plus many species into extinction, as well as destroyed many beautiful wild places not meant for humans. We already don't have enough water for everyone. In addition, the biggest cause for disease and famine is overpopulation. If you don't believe it's a problem, look at China after Chairman Mao encouraged families to have as many children as possible. They had the worst famine in history! If you want a big family, then do the right and loving thing and adopt. Everyone on this planet need to work to get our numbers down before we have to go under reproductive martial law like China or have everyone living in unbearable poverty like India. Is that really the world you want to leave to your children? I don't.
