Male prison uniforms

Why did people choose what they did for question number two? I find it odd to believe that people would prefer spending years of their life in a jumpsuit...

I wouldn't want to spend years of my life in a jump suit, I would prefer button down shirt and pants. But it seems to me cheaper for the government to issue jump suits. Less hastle to clean etc.

As a sideline I don't know why this whole pole is of any interest to anyone.

Prison Uniforms and Normality

If I was in prison, I would want to feel like I was in prison. In British prisons, they try to minimize the deprivations in order to create an air of normality. However, this surely makes the deprivations inevitably involved seem more humiliating and intense. Prison should be prison.
