Islam daughter
I am not personally a muslim, but I just wanted to offer my somewhat uneducated opinion. I think that the Islamic tradition of veiling women is not evil, it just seems wrong to force somebody to do something they don't want to do. I guess I could compare it to wearing yarmulukes in Judaism--all males have to do it, but I think once you reach bar mitzvah age, you can decide whether or not to... I'm not sure on that, though. I do appreciate the Islamic values of modesty for women, but when taken to extreme cases, (i.e. the Taliban and their burqas) it become a human rights issue. (I know not all muslims are all that extreme, by the way, so please don't get on me for muslim-bashing)
in reply to what the person said be fore me---
ISLAM NEVER SAID THAT YOU HAD TO HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER OR WIFE VELIED AT A YOUNG AGE---PEOPLE MADE THE DECISION TO.
