Saved ONLY by faith in Jesus?

all disprove hell

This is an excellent necessary poll, and those who belonged to the 51% who answered "strictly and rigidly" and the 53% who answered "I did not answer strictly and rigidly" (Oh thank you God for showing us that, tee hee!!!!!!) deserve how stupid they now feel.

Whenever I pass fundamentalists performing in the street, I write this on a scrap of paper and give them it, Whenever I pass a "gospel hall" or fundamentalist church I write this on a scrap of paper and put it through their letterbox, and I had this published in the Queensfery Gazette, local newspaper in South Queensferry, Scoland, 1 Aug 2003.

Psalm 103:9, Isaiah 57:16, Micah 7:18 all disprove hell, John 6:37 disproves eternal fixing of destiny at death.

The texts you give dont disprove hell. It proves that God is mercyfull and loving, and not subjected in his emotions to people. Although He has no pleasure in the death of a sinner, His righteousness forces Him to send people to Hell anyhow. It would not be fair for a killer, that comletely ignored the helping hand of God to go to heaven anyhow.

So the fact that God will not always be angry (his emotionel state) has nothing to do with His mental state of righteousness.

Even Jesus said, its better to go to heaven with one eye then not to enter with both eyes. So I think its not a very nice, but very real place we can go to.

I have to agree. I am Catholic and we believe that we should live a good Christian life and that includes attending church, frequent reception of the sacraments, supporting the Church and performing acts of charity. I hate to think there is a hell, though as you say God must be rightous. Would he accept a serial killer into heaven because just before he was put to death he exclaimed that he believed in God and accepted him as his Savior as compared to a man who tried to live an honorable life, was a kind person, but never fully knew if he was doing God's Will? Only Gods knows - certainly I cannot judge. My take on it is probably not. It is like so many things in life - when you accept everything, you lower the bar and lessen the standards by which we are expected to conduct ourselves. While I do believe Christ died for our sins he also expects us to live honorable lives and to kind to others.
