Adult Children of Mentally Ill Parents Poll

Your poll is very interesting, however there is the presumption of diagnosis and subsequent medication. As someone with a paranoid schizophrenic mother, she was so paranoid she never shared her halluncinations with others, so therefore was never diagnosed or treated. I'd be curious of the number of others with undiagnosed parents.

Also there is the defination of "abuse". What was acceptable dicipline in the '50's would today be considered physical abuse. This would effect your polls' results.

It would also be interesting to know what disorders the parents were diagnosed with.

It also would be interesting to identify what supports were present for your respondants to help them survive their childhood.
