There is a tremendous arrogance in the majority response to this poll that the United Nations or other Western countries should determine relief efforts. These are sovereign countries and they and they alone should control the effort. We in the West may provide manpower, time, materials and money, but the direction belongs to the country affected alone. Anything else is Colonialism.

Yes, but third world countries are prone to having more corrupt politicians and it's likely that the donations would go into someone's pocket, not to those who need it the most...
