The Importance of Ramadan

I am currently a 12 yeard ol Palestian girl in the 7th grade. i have lots to say. FIrst of all, Islam means Peace, an more poeple should be aware of that, bcause now days poeple look at muslims differently for example after the 9/11 attack. RELIGION DOES NOT CAUSE WAR-PEOPLE DO. I stand up for my religion A LOT in my school, and one time i brought in pics of whats going on in the war in palestine..and you wanna know what people were saying to me? they said="oh your lieing!" and stuff like that...as if they didnt already know! they didnt need me to show them the pictures!!!!!.....

anyway, I do fast in the time of Ramadan. I o because i like to follow my religion in the way Allah (S) tells us to in the Quaran. Many people in my school are aware of my religion and occasionally poeple ask me a few questions, but the majority of the people dont seem to have a problem with it. anyway, although fasting is not easy, think about the poor people who have no food? i feel good about myself when i fast. Islamic poeple are NOT out to get anyone, but to make PEace. Inshallah (hopefully) poeple will see what is inside a muslim before you judge them base on the attacks sor todays bias media/on the news..thats THEIR point of vie on the war..Not the whole truth..and no im not saying all islamic people are good...i mean because if you think about it..no people in any religion- are all of them goo...think NOT ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE ARE GOOD. NOT ALL JEWISH PEOPLE ARE GOOD, NOT ALL INDIAN PEOPLE ARE OOD.. and so on and so forth...you get what i aying...not everyone in the world is good, its a fact in life we humans have got to accept. again, take the time to know ANY person of ANY religion before you judge them, an im sure many people agree.

Good on you! Good to know that there are people at young ages such as yourself that have a strong feeling for their religion. I am also quite young (15 years old) and think that islam has certainly been shown by the media in the wrong way. Islam teaches nothing but peace. Like you said, every religion has their 10% of people that have somewhate extreme beleifs. The problem is, when it is a muslim, not only the person is labeled 'extreme, aggresive, violent' etc, but the religion as a whole is labeled this... AND is shown to the world by media! Therefore... ISLAM is given a bad name in the minds of the people that have watched/read about the acts. I just think that people should judge islam for what it teaches and not for the 10% of muslims shown on media.
