Witnessed Spanking

I have two sons ages 15 and 12. they are great boys - I do not spank them often especially not now- but they each have been spanked in the last yr. I would never allow witnesses- even though the spankings are not brutal by any means. They do hurt! I none the less have always spanked them in the bedroom they share- as sometimes I wqas spanking both of them- or I never thought it did any harm for the brother to see his brother get a spanking, I would never spank in front of a relative or friend. I have a very good relationship with my sons. I think the best question a parent can ask is: "Do my children like to be with me- do they seek me out for company - for talks - advice? " If that is the case I do not think an infrequent, but deserved, spanking is going to change that healthy relationship. It has beeen that way with my dad and sure seems to be that way with my sons.

Why do they get spanked? for good or stupid reasons? like breaking a window? Have you ever tried fooling with their minds? like saying "go to room and wait for me" and giving them an hour or so, and THEN spanking them, It worked for my freind when he was young, he was totally freaked when his father said go to your room and wiat for me.

I think there are different ways of dealing with children. Time-outs don't work, don't send them to their room. but my mom only needed yell at me and it straightened me out. I loved her and it made me feel bad when she was angry.

So that's why I always did my best to behave myself, she never spanked me.

Till this day I'm more scared of geting her to yell at me than a spanking. It's just way worse like that. That's what I'm gonna get my wife to do if I have kids.
