Has your teacher ever made you write lines as punishment?

I was only ever made to write lines once, I think. I was 9.

Al the other children in the classwere older than me. and that much more mature. The subject was "scripture", although at that stage eveything was taught together by your class teacher.

When Miss Houseby said "would yu liketo get out your Bibles?" I said ,as a joke "we wouldn't like to, but we will. I was as surprised as she was shocked "GABRIEL" (not a name anyone still called me, except my teachers) "STAND UP" She only gave me 10 lines, but since it was the first time I'd ever had more than a mild tellling off, I was the frst kid in that class she punished, it made quite an imression

I don't know what the lines said, or even if I did them. But before I was 13 I had changed schools, and there I was given three strokes of the cane for being sassy to a teacher
