It's wrong for any reason (other than possibly between two consenting adults - that's up to them).
It's perverted, it's wrong to deliberately hurt children, it gives them altogether the wrong message - it says that violence is ok when it isn't.

I agree too. I don't know of anyone in my family or any of my friends who spank their kids. It is uncreative, and does show kids that violence is the way to solve problems. It's kind of sad that many people think of their kids as property or the extention of their egos. No wonder why there are so many messed up kids. If the Bible justifies it, it is just one more reason why that book is screwed up.
Am I the only one who notices the fact that there is a HUGE amount of polls dealing with "spanking" on this site??? Makes me wonder.
