Christians do you have a sexual fantacy life?
During Confirmation preparation (the Roman Catholic version), we were never able to answer whether or not it was sinful for a spouse to fanstasize about someone other than their partner. Would that be the equivalent of committing adultery in your mind?!
Matthew 5:28 tells us in no uncertain terms, and I quote:
"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
(King James Version.)
I would think that thinking about your friend's wife while you have sex with your own wife counts as adultery of the heart.
It's not fair. If I'm guilty of adultery, I want to at least HAVE the adultery.
the Bible then goes on to tell us, in the next passage, that if your right eye offendeth thee, pluck it out.
I see an awful lot of two-eyed Christians, and I find it hard to believe their right eye hath never offendeth them.
Too many people are afraid to do what Jesus DEMANDS of them.
Ah Tralhob - the answer is that you have to interpret the bible, not take it seriously. It's a load of metaphores.
Therefore in Matthew JC is only speaking metaphorically - he doesn't want you to pluck out your eye, just pluck it out metaphorically. Maybe a little poke in the eye would do, or a quick rub?
You shouldn't be having sex anyway UNLESS it's to procreate and then you really shouldn't enjoy it.
Mind you if he meant it literally, then sex really does make you blind!!
I tried adultery once but kept thinking about my wife so it doesn't count!
AMEN!!!!
