If you gave those same percentage of men pictures of children in darfur, there would still be an alarming jump in the arousal meter. The fact of the matter is that it is the male libido which has schemed, from the beginning of time, to subjugate everything in it's path with outrageous attempts like The Bible all the way down to The Miss Universe Pageant. Inherently, the future Jon Bonet Ramseys are assured their fates by the child molestors (of which overwhelmingly are heterosexual men).

This poll is not a survey more than it is propogandist conditioning and i resent it's assault on my lesbian sensibilities.

Hi Lesbian Avenger:

I do admit to the male bias of this poll (as well as the pro-gay bias), but I think that when it comes to combatting homophobia, we are all in this together. The Graggard's of the world would like to see both of us in jail, or worse (check out his "on the Death Penalty" poll). I support lesbian rights the same as I support rights for gay men, as I do the rights of women in general. We are all human after all.

I don't believe that most men use sex as a weapon. We just live in a society that kind of encourages that. I think sex should just be an expression of love or MUTUAL enjoyment between consenting adults. I know there is alot of Misogeny in society that needs to be dealt with, and of course I'm not a woman, so I can only see all of this from a male perspective, but I really don't think I'm your enemy.

I'm not gay and I'm a man but none of my gay and lesbian friends think I'm the enemy, far from it. I have campaigned for equal rights, gay and lesbian rights, disability rights, the right to work. I have made banners, I have marched and I have run campaign newspapers.

I am a lone parent of two daughters and believe me I would make one he ll of a fuss if either of them were treated any differently because they were female. I have gay and lesbian friends and have stood beside them as they have stood beside me campaigning for rights for disabled people.

You really can't lump all men together and say they are the problem just as you can't lump all christians together and say they are the problem. Many christians ignore those parts of the bible they don't like and 'interpret' the difficult parts in a way that makes them less offensive. The bit that says "any man who lies down with another man must be stoned" could mean that they must smoke some weed beforehand - more relaxed, more mellow, more enjoyable all round! Unfortunately the conservative right wing evangelofascists don't see it that way. Pity really, they should try it - they are probably the ones who would enjoy it! ;-D

To Thixia - I dislike conservative christians because whenever you stand up to be counted, be it for equal rights for gays, black and ethinic minorities, female priests, female bishops, disabled, whatever; there they are opposing you quoting the bible word for word, spitting in your face, calling you names, gloating that their god will send you straight to hell (and by the way he loves you!) Hypocrites all, bigots all. They are what turns so many against christians (and of couse the book that they so accurately quote from actually does say those things in a very unambiguous way - you have to look hard to find it but it is there and they have looked very hard indeed). I would like your opinion on my own poll - 'The bible god's word or what?' AND I truly want your opinion, please take the poll and post there. For me!

I am so tired of women who say they can multi task and men can't. "Why?" you ask them. Their answer is that they work and also do the household chores and the shopping and the bringing up of the children. What an insult. Until I retired last year when I got too ill to work full time I was an education manager, a university lecturer, supervisor, course writer and tutor, brought up two marvelous girls, did all the housework, all the shopping, dealt with them going through puberty (was that embarrassing - you bet it was but I had to do it so I did), cooked and cleaned. What is it I didn't do that any woman can? NOTHING. I still do it all, just without the work.

To Lesbian Avenger - Feminist fascism does nothing for women, just as evangelofascism does nothing for christianity. Campaigning for better rights for your own group is fine and dandy but you belong to a world of injustice - stand up for the others who need their rights improved - disabled like me, lone parents like me, gays like totoro, lesbians like yourself, black and ethnic minorities like my friend Victor from Malawi, working parents and carers (I chaired a working parents and carers group for seven years up to my retirement within the authority I worked in improving provision for both parents and carers in the workplace - I was helping my father care for my mother who had COPD and had shattered her spine in a fall - the hungry in Africa which is why I support Comic Relief, and those in need throughout the rest of the world - ditto Sports Relief. We are one large family, look after our brothers and sisters first before yourself otherwise you get blinded by your own viewpoint. When you can't see the other side's point you have lost yourself. When you think you are more deserving than anyone else or your group's needs outweigh all others you really need to step back and givr yourself a good kick up the backside because you are full of s--t. But don't lose sight of your own personal needs

To Totoro: Sorry, I've gone on one of my rants again on your poll this time. Interesting line of thought developing nevertheless.

BJake: I mostly agree with you. I don't think Lesbian Avenger is fascist, probably just $%!@ed off. Being self aware of both being gay, and the type of bigotry and hatrid directed towords you because of that can often be a bit much to deal with. On another point, I also know that alot of men still treat women badly too. I do agree with you though in that we should all work together to improve the lives of all of us (warm and fuzzy, huh?). You can rant on my polls whenever you want-same goes for you, LA (Lesbian Avenger).

I'm not sure how the multi-tasking paragraph fits in, but I seem to be multitasking alot myself these days. I will be in Mono Hot Springs this weekend though (although they are expecting a thunderstorm-yikes!).
