Is this wise to take away the name of God from our school teachings?

This is a biased poll

Nobody is denying kids the right to pray in school on their own time. Nobody's basic rights are being violated. The kid from Arizona is full of it when he says "praying is against the rule."

It's true that teachers can't say "ok class, prayer time." Kids are responsible for their own prayer, if they want to do it. You have a basic right to pray on your own time; you do not have a basic right to make the teacher set aside time for prayer. There's always time before and after class; there are always breaks, and you can always pray before and after school. You don't need to force the teacher to make a big production out of your prayer time. That's between you and your god; you do not have a "basic right" to make the teacher do that.

More generally, you do not have a "basic right" to use taxpayer money and personell, and public school time, to spread your particular religious agenda to a captive audience.

Well I must agree. Of course, I am Jewish and Agnostic, but that's beside the point. On the last question, you failed to mention that the flower was made because of scientific phenomena. I personally believe in a very personal god that only has influence over you as a person and not over worldly and earthly affairs. I think of him as more of a conscience, which is what makes me agnostic in my mind. Also, you must remember that is says in the constitution that you have the right of free religion. This does not mean Catholic or Protestant. It means you can be any religion in the world. Praying in schools is infringing upon that right because it assumes that we are all the same religion. I feel the same about the pledge of alliegance and "In God we Trust." When people get home, they can do whatever they want. They can say grace or blessings on there own time when they are going to have lunch at school, but it is unfair to force children to pray to a different religion; possibly a different god. And Tralhob- How did you get the Italic and bold? I can't get that on mine.

To get italics, surround the desired text with single asterisks on both sides.

For bold, surround the desired text with double asterisks on both sides.

You can do italics and bold with triple asterisks.

You can also insert lines to separate major themes in your posts, if you ever write long posts where there would be necessary. To do this, type at least 3 dashes in a row --- on their own line.

I haven't figured out how to insert URL links; anyone know?

I mean it, I'm not being sarcastic! Honest!!

Who flagged me by the way - I only informed you all of a fact. A fact can't be unwholesome can it?
