US. Gas Tax Idea

For example, the highest price I found in the last 36 hours in California was $4.19. Here in the UK we are paying on average about $8.50 for a gallon. Cheap gas has done nothing for the US anyway, only bring about urban sprawl, inefficient SUVs that most people who buy them dont need at all, excessive use of cars which contributes to obscene levels of obesity and an oil-addicted 'car culture'. I would love to see the effects of raising gas prices to the same as we pay. Maybe then people would see how much of the stuff they actually use unneccessarily.

I'm sorry, can't you read? I don't live in the USA, I live in Britain, thank you very much. I have no intention of ever moving to the USA.

The USA and the UK united against a common enemy several decades ago. That doesn't mean the USA deserves some kind of special treatment.

I've just about had it with people like you, thinking you are superior to the rest of us and have some right to lord yourself over everyone else, just because you are american. My original post was not intended to insult anyone, just to point out that, compared to the rest of us, american gas prices are low. If you can't get this, then I suggest you kindly $%!@ off and drool on someone elses forum
