Is God real
I find it somewhat worrying that so far 33% of people would do anything for god, regardless of whatever it might be or the possible effects. This implies a lack of ability to think rationally for yourself, and leads people to do some pretty crazy things. Like blowing up an airliner.
Agreed. I always thought it was nuts in the Bible how Abraham was willing to kill his son for God, and that's held up as a positive thing. If I were told to kill my son, and the alternative were to burn in hell forever, and I actually knew that and believed it to be true, I'd say 'screw you, God. Burn my spiritual body all you like. I'm not doing it. My love for my son is greater than my love for you. Surely you created me to feel that way?'
It's definitely worrisome how blindly devoted some people are to their invisible wizards.
People who think that there is a god is $%!@ed up in the head. Its all made to control and make people fearful.
God is a convenient way of avoiding difficult questions like why does the sun rise every morning, where did we come from. God is the lazy man's or woman's out. Scientists are not lazy men or women and they don't look for easy answers. They try to find out the truth behind everything.
The sun does not rise every morning - we go round the sun on a spinning ball - we only say it rises because it seems to rise. What would it look like if it seemed to be stationary and we seemed to be on a spinning globe?
We know more and more every day and that makes the god excuse less and less necessary. That's very scary for the lazy men and women because answering questions is getting harder and we expect better answers than "it's god!"
Don't be lazy. Don't be fooled by the god excuse. Try thinking for a change - you may even get to like it.
Yes I know that God is real. Anyone who has experienced Divine Light and Divine Sound know that all light and sound physical or spiritual has a source. I regret that religions have so misrepresented God in so many ways, though some good does come through. And that religious fanatics have been the worst culprits of this. But, if one looks at the truly enlightened Souls who have lived on this world, one would find that they were very brave, self-sacrificing and that they, indeed, thought for themselves (which was usually what got them into trouble with the established authorities). Don't look at orthodox figures, look at the mystics for your answers. The mystics knew the earth was round and that atoms existed before even the scientists did. But, they couldn't prove it, because their experiences were of a subjective nature, not objective. If you want to experience the Divine, just clear your mind before going to sleep and ask Spirit (in all sincerity) to show you something good about God. If you do this repeatedly, you will be quite surprised by the dreams you have....good luck!
