Boycott The Beijing Olympics

Bush is China's poodle

Of course the Bush crime family has made it so we owe China a bit of money, so they wouldn't dare criticize them, just like how they would NEVER criticize Saudi Arabia. China is using the Olympics as a propaganda ploy just like Hitler did, as they are engaged in brutal human rights violations (to say the least). We sure don't learn much from the past, do we?!

Calls for political liberalization in China are premature and counterproductive. Life moves forward with small steps of progress. That is what China should do too.

I don't see China moving forward. They seem to be mixing the worst aspects of Communism with the worst aspects of Capitalism-extreme authoritarianism regarding personal liberties with a very unregulated economic system where shoddy and dangerous goods are produced.

China is moving forward. Lifting 300 million people out of poverty in just 30 years is one of the greatest achievements ever. Besides, would you consider Russia's transition from Socialism more succesfull? Russia tried political liberalization first with disasterous results. The Chinese way is more pragmatic.

I'm not sure how you could get the idea that I find Russia to be successful from ANY of my posts. I am sort of curious if you would choose to live in China since it is so wonderful. My point is and has been that it is still quite an opressive regime that gets a major free pass from the Bush administration. I'm curious as to how you would explain what is and has been happening in Tibet right now just as one example.

There are examples of democratic socialism in Western Europe that are relatively free of oppression.
