Neurological functions cease after death. So even if life did exist after death, which it likely does not, we could not be aware of it.

your so full of sshhiittt. there is a life after death. and it is on this earth. its called the spirit world. if you live good you make a heavenly next life. if you do bad you make a hell in the next life. you will see when you die. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, there IS life after death in a scientific sense. When you die, you decompose into the soil, which enriches it and allows for plants to grow, which may then be consumed by animals of all sorts. This is a sort of "scientific reincarnation" if you will. The vehicle through which you lived your former life will be used to sustain further life, hence, life exists after death.
However, I don't believe in any sort of heaven or hell, or supernatural reincarnation into some universal life force, so I had to answer "no" to the first question.
