Is negro acceptable

I am black and I don't find the word negro offensive. It is not exactly related to the word N**r. Some Black people use the word nigga to say high even if it almost is spell like the other word But When some one uses it a s an offensive racial slur than it become peronal and you would probaly end up getting hunted down and shot or beat up
