At what age were you saved?

at around age 13...

Somehow I dont think this was the kind of responses people were expecting...

Anyway, in your early teens, you start to properly experience life, and realise that religion cannot answer everything, and in some cases is just downright wrong. Before this age, people are still young and impressionable, and the simple 'explanations' offered by religion make more sense to you at this age

That's the way I see it anyway.

I must say I was delighted with the messages. I fully agree that becoming an atheist was the most freeing experience of my life. Freedom from guilt, freedom from those awkward questions, freedom from those boring sermons and, most of all, freedom from thse awful bigots and hypocrites.

you people are the perfect example of why atheists exist. you stereotype the misdoings of one christian or a group of christians and apply them to all christians. not to say there arent hypocrites in christianity, because there are, but they need to examine their theology. also, at the church i go to, the sermons are far from boring. the thing most churches lack these days is a relevant message that will matter directly to the recipient. i go to a church with that and worship music with drums and guitar.

just because you dont want to be held accountable to your sins doesnt mean you wont. one day every tounge will confess, one day every knee will bow. that includes you too. you may not believe it now, but you will, in this life or the next.

'you people are the perfect example of why atheists exist.'

What's that supposed to mean? Atheists exist because they trust human reasoning and believe in an entirely physical universe with no god. In this case you are correct- I would hope that previous posts are a perfect example of the triumph of reason and logic.

'just because you dont want to be held accountable to your sins doesnt mean you wont.'

You were saying something about stereotyping? 'held accountable to your sins'? what's with that? You seem to assume all atheists know your god exists, but ignore it in the hope that this will save us. You are wrong. Atheists believe that no god exists. Simple as that. The concept really isn't that difficult to grasp.

'one day every tounge will confess, one day every knee will bow. that includes you too. you may not believe it now, but you will, in this life or the next.'

Are you trying to intimidate us? Atheists, by nature, are not intimidated by threats from non-existent deities. Also, there is no 'next life.' Conciousness is a product of the brain, so once the brain ceases to function, it's game over. No heaven, no hell, no angels, just... nothing.

Precisely. No god, no heaven, no satan, no hell, no afterlife, no original sin committed by someone (Adam) who never existed, no salvation, no redemption, no damnation.

You may not believe this now and sadly you never will unless you become an atheist because when you are dead that's it. Nothing more. Nothing. You won't find out the truth, you just won't be.
