School uniform at University
Hi I'm Bridgit, I posted in the other message, but thought I would share my open day experience in a new stream. As I've said before, my parents are also making me wear my full school uniform for the next 3 years of university. We had open day last week. and I went with my mum in my full school uniform, i that's anything to go by, it's going to be hard. Guys didn't look at me,but the girls did. Up and down with a big grin on their faces. It's not like I could tell them I had no choice. It was hot to. Me in beige longsleeved shirt (top button done up), black tie, maroon woolen pleated skirt just below my knees, beige ribbed tights, brown leather lace up school shoes, hair in a bun (out it would be just below my shoulders, so its a big bun, hence the bun net), no makeup and no jewlery. The other girls were probably happy to ditch their uniforms after 13 years and showed it. Boobtubes, skimpy summer halter dresses, tiny skirts, bare (brown) legs, strappy shoes showing their pedicures, long hair out, makeup and jewlery. This is going to be hard...
Bridgit, you should be proud to be properly dressed in your uniform. However, you didn't mention wearing a sweater or blazer with your uniform. I would hope that you just forgot?
Hi Trish. As it's Australia, thankfully we only have to wear our v neck woolen jumper in winter months. I'm interested in your thoughts on girls wearing their hair in a bun. Do you make your daughter do this? I've got to say, it's very comfortable and cooler in the hot months as a sideline.
Bridgit, I'm surprised that your parents have allowed you to wear only a blouse and no jumper or blazer. I realize that it might be warm where you are, but that does not excuse your inappropriate dress. I would suggest that you start wearing your jumper all the time. It may be a bit uncomfortable at times, but I think that in time you will learn to appreciate it and being properly dressed. You may want to go to your parents first and ask that they enforce it, because you may be tempted to remove it or not wear it when it is warm. I think that wearing your hair in a bun is a very appropriate for a young lady.
I agree, I dont think a uniform is complete without a jumper and blazer. I see students from other schools dressed daggy, shirts hanging out, ties undone and it looks scruffy and horrible imo.
