Yes it is true that people have done terrible things in the name of God, but why do you imply that this is God’s will? Humans have free will, so it is OUR responsibility for our actions, not God’s. God has given us all the instruction we need to lead a peaceful and nonviolent life, but humans, throughout the ages, have decided that they know better the Almighty, Omniscient, God. And where has that gotten us? A world of hate and detestation, part of which you spoke about in your introduction.

The Bible is a book that contains much archaeological and historically accurate information, so why not take it seriously? The Bible has also been shown to be extremely scientifically accurate, this exactly what one would except from the word of God!
