Greatest U.S President 1900-onwards Semi Finals
WTF! Reagan is beating Roosevelt. Now I know that is total Bulls h i t I mean F U C K how can that d ouche bag beat FDR. He didn't do anything of real significance. He was mediocre at best. In fact other than ordering the fall of the Berlin Wall he was actually quite the nuiscance esppecially when he spent a big chunk of US income on missile defense system. Missiles that we didn't ever use and became outdated and were replaced again steal from US funds once more and then was terminated. He was only slightly better than George W. Bush and spent almost as much as him for nothing in particular and putting us in debt which went even higher with bush Senior and it wasn't til CLinton got us out of debt in fact we had a surplus with Clinton and then Bush Jr spent that surplus and put us over $500,000,000,000 in debt and that was three years ago who know how bad it is no but i digress he isn't that great just because he died recently. I think this poll should have come down to Bill Clinton,FDR,Kennedy, and THeodore Roosevelt. Teddy and Clinton tie for second and FDR and Kennedy tie for First
You must be a Liberal. No sence of history!
You would have a great future as a fiction writer if you believe anything you have written.
First off congress does all the spending, not the President. The President can only prepose a budget! Second, defense spending is mandated in the Constitution. So you could say all defense spending is the only spending that is truly Constitutional! All other spending, if tested, under "Original Intent" of the "Founding Fathers" and the Constitution, is illegal and Un-Constitutional! Remember, " the government that governs least, governs best!"
Your lack of understanding of the Constitution and U.S. History is unbeleivable. You must truly be a product of our "fine government public schools!"
gg, Two aspects of American history you might want to find out about: World War II and the Depression.
As you say, the president proposes a budget, and it the president who is essentially responisible for the governments economic policy, so Reagan easily bears the most responsibilty for the deficit built up under him, in spite of desperate Republican assertions to the contrary. A simple comparison between the budgets submitted by Reagan and those eventually passed by congress show this.
And just because your beloved "Founding Fathers" say something doesn't mean its right. Consider slavery.
