Bush

His priorities were out of line or he was just looking to make-up for his dad's move in pulling out instead of finishing the job before. It seemed to me taht North Lorea was more of a threat and that Saddam although a threat was not the greatest thing to worry about. We've wasted 3 yrs in that desert and we hsould not have come there in the first place. He's wasted our rescources & thousands of lives I think that deserves some punishment. He should be impeached.

Is there something wrong with this thing because I check my typing before I post & yet these mistakes keep popping up.

Your reasoning behind wanting impeachment is that you disagree with his policy decisions. Unfortunately that is no basis for impeachment. I disagreed with Clinton's policy to give the N. Koreans Uranium and other materials that ended up being used to start their weapons program. But, as bad as that policy was, it was no grounds for impeachment.

Illegal wiretapping. Think what Nixon did with Watergate and then apply it to a larger scale. Plus blatant disregard for the Constitution when it comes to civil liberties.

There is a big difference between watergate and NSA wiretapping. Watergate was directed at Nixon's political opponents, while NSA was directed at foriegn terrorists.

The problem with impeaching over NSA wiretapping is that legally, it was in a gray area. FISA does provide for warrantless wiretaps of foriegn powers and agents of foriegn powers, but forbids them for "legal residents" of USA. Here's the problem members of terrorist sleeper cells are "agents of a foriegn power" under the 2004 amendment. However, they are also, for the most part legal residents. So, which category do they fall under? Depends on your point of view. Either way when the wiretaps were struck down by a federal court in 2006, Bush decided to stop the program, even though the court did not require him to until after an appeal could be heard.

The point of all this is that while this program has now been declared unconstitutional, at the time that it was being implemented it was not. The law was unclear as to whether it was a legal program or not, for this reason, the president can't be impeached, b/c it is not clear that he commited a crime.

PS. In my personal opinion, even though the law was unclear, I still think the president should have gone to a FISA court to get a warrant, just to be on the safeside. But a personal disagreement with his policies is not grounds for impeachment.
