Flagging political or controversial content.

I just noticed that someone flagged my poll "Cults for fun and profit" where I compared religions and cults but also mentioned at the beginning that alot of my questions were tounge in cheek. I also noticed that I had NO negative comments in the message area. I like talking about controversial subjects and can sometimes be sarcastic in my humor but I really don't want to hurt anyones feelings. I wish people would tell me that I am doing that if I am and I will tone it down a bit even though I see very hateful comments (sometimes directed towords me although not so much anymore since "Asskicking Ghandi" is not posting any more) in other polls sometimes.

I agree 100% for your stated reasons for having the "flag" option but I hope this won't be used to censor political/spiritual/controversial opinions in general. Just a few thoughts.

Generally, I really enjoy Misterpoll. It helps me with my debating skills...keep up the good work...Totoro.

totoro: I figured some people would use the "Flag" option to flag content they don't agree with, rather than what is truly inappropriate. Don't worry too much if somebody flags something of yours when you're sure you haven't crossed the line. Nothing is removed automatically by the flagging. It simply notifies us so we can review it. We will make the final judgment on whether something is truly inappropriate and should be removed.

Your "Cults for fun and profit" poll is definitely not over the line. It will not be removed because of this flagging.

Misterpoll: Thank you for the reply. As I mentioned before, I like making polls that are somewhat controversial because they are interesting, but I try to keep them in a PG 13 format and not include language or anything else that is inappropriate. I just hope that if people are offended by something in my poll and it isn't material that SHOULD be flagged, that they let me know instead of flagging my poll. When people browse polls and see the "flagged" sign, they may be scared to take a rather innocuous poll. I don't see any easy solutions, but maybe you could develop some parameters regarding acceptable content. Thanks again for the fun site.
